¿Qué vertientes hidrográficas hay en Europa?
Los ríos europeos desembocan en varios mares y océanos. Existen cinco vertientes hidrográficas en el continente:
Las vertientes ártica, ∎ del mar Caspio y ∎ del mar Negro. Tienen ríoslargos y caudalosos que atraviesan grandes llanuras. Son navegables en verano, pero en invierno muchos de ellos se congelan.

Vertiente atlántica. Incluye los ríos más caudalosos del continente por atravesar zonas con abundantes lluvias. Son ríos largos que discurren por extensas llanuras y, por lo general, navegables. Suelen originar estuariosen sus desembocaduras.

Vertiente mediterránea. Incluye ríos cortos e irregulares, ya que, aunque son caudalosos en invierno, disminuyen su caudal en verano. Nacen en terrenos altos y con fuertes pendientes.
